Underlying Philosophy of Minecraft & EPC engineering is the same !
Exploring the parallels between Minecraft's Survival and Creative modes, this blog delves into how the EPC Industry mirrors these concepts. We discuss the transition from survival-like constraints to a 'creative mode' of engineering, enabled by innovative tools like ASETS-LUX and the Integrated Design Suite™.
In Mine craft, there are two main game modes: Survival and Creative. In Survival mode, the goal…is to survive. Players appear in a new world and are challenged to use its resources to build shelter, find food, and craft tools to help them construct the universe they want to live in.
In the Creative mode strips away the survival aspects of Mine craft and allows players to easily create and destroy structures and mechanisms with the inclusion of an infinite use of blocks and flying.
Which one is better ? Both are completely different from one another. In survival is all about managing supplies while the latter is about creativity. Players have to work hard in Survival mode to do everything that they can to make it through each day. Creative on the other hand isn’t like this at all. It offers no pressure or stress. It simply offers players the chance to let their imaginations run wild as much as it can, allowing them to craft and build, as well as use anything that they could possibly want to use in Mine craft.
If you don't know what I am speaking about, do take a try at Mine craft.
EPC Industry is no different, It has rather come to become one of the survival modes , where the present limitations of the tools puts in lot of pressure on designers and engineers to allow changes at later stage in the engineering, fearing non-completion and delays. What engineers need is " creative" mode environment, where they can provide smarter solutions ,various alternative options and being able to decide the optimized choice. However the routine procedures are lengthy enough allowing the engineers no room to bring on the creative mode, but rather a haste in completion of the activities.
It is for product & technology creators like us who have the onus to provide excellent rule based cloud products, which these designers, multi-disciplinary engineers can access from anywhere in the world and yet make brilliant choices, helping accelerate complex LNG Layouts, Fertilizer plants or as a fact accelerate any Industrial plant.
Let alone doing routine designs for "Modularization concepts" where every effective change in Loads and connectivity, structural engineers do back & forth between their excel calculations and CAD model, rarely are able to provide more than 1 geometrical options to the "asset" , not that they are suppose to , however providing them with smart platform is the very purpose of ASETS-LUX. Giving them the opportunity to provide better solutions , better layouts and quicker decisions.
IDS(tm) - Integrated Design suite is all about making this engineering Industry into a creative mode of environment, allowing abundant technological supplies to the engineers ( Resources) , allowing them to be creative at the designs, giving more optimized quick choices, rather than worrying about routine changes. Its rule based approach allows engineers to reverse engineer and check then and there if there designs would work out or not and make adequate choices leaving no time for repetitive changes and delays.
So From now ... switch on the creative mode , start using the Integrated Design Suite(tm) make quicker piping layouts, check if they work if they don't- make the changes. Provide smarter parameterized models and if they "Clash" redo them by providing an alternative choice.
Plan your budget, Plan your resources, before you start your work allocate your schedule planning and get through with Layout freeze. Get your piping Hydraulics Checked ! if they work Move on to stress designs and if they don't- Change the layout. whatever it may require - get your estimates out quicker .. Because if you don't switch on your creative mode --- the heatwaves are going to engulf all of us and you will be left no with no choice even closer to the survival mode......
